Interview – Alfian Rahardjo

  Amat sangat sulit saya rasakan untuk project interview ini. tetapi dengan keinginan saya untuk dapat menyelesaikan semua project Mata Kuliah ini, saya berusaha untuk tetap mencari seorang narasumber yang bisa termasuk ke dalam golongan master, legend, atau pun fenomenal.

    Banyak bantuan dari teman-teman dalam memberikan masukan narasumber. sempat beberapa kali mengirim CV ke Bu Ais, dan beberapa kali di tolak juga. sempat hampir menyerah dengan semuanya. tetapi saya tetap berusaha sebisa mungkin untuk menyelesaikannya.

  berikut adalah wawancara saya dengan Pak Alfian Rahardjo, di mana beliau adalah seorang News Anchoor yang sekarang sudah menjadi Produser:

 

Q: Bagaimana pemahaman arti Ide menurut Bapak?

A: Menurut saya ide itu sebenarnya adalah sebuah kerangka berpikir dimana dia menjadi sebuah pijakan awal. Jadi ide itu seperti sebuah pola pikir awal sebelum itu dikembangkan menjadi beberapa hal yang yang lebih besar dari itu. Seperti ketika orang melangkah  ia membutuhkan pijakanan, itulah yang bisa disebut ide, sebuah pijakan awal, step atau langkah pertama.

 

Q: Bagaimana pemahaman arti Konsep menurut Bapak?

A: Nah, kalau konsep itu merupakan satu turunan dari ide. Jadi ketika ide itu ingin dijalankan, ia harus dibentuk sebuah konsep dulu, sehingga nanti ketika ide itu dijabarkan akan sudah terbentuk dengan  baiklah. Jadi harus ada konsep-kosnsepnya dulu, langkah-langkahnya terlebih dahulu seperti apa

 

Q: Bagaimana cara atau strategi Bapak untuk mewujudkan ide dan konsep didalam setiap karya-karya itu?

A: Gini, Kalau apa yang sudah saya lakukan selama ini, ketika memang ada ide, ketika awal ada ide, itu kita mencoba menjabarkannya dalam bentuk konsep terlebih dahulu. Jadi muncul beragam konsep, kemudian dari beberapa konsep itu kita pilih mana konsep yang terbaik menurut kita. Jadi kita melakukan pemilihan konsep. Nah konsep-konsep itu yang milih bukan kita sendiri, tetapi kita ada beberapa orang untuk membahas mana konsep yang terbaik untuk kita. Karena ide cuma satu, konsep bisa beragam.

 

Q: Bagaimanakah ukuran suatu ide dan konsep dianggap bernilai baik, dilihat dari idealisme dan bisnis?

A: Memang beda banget, ketika ide dan konsep itu dijadikan ukuran idealisme dan juga ukuran bisnis. Kalau idealisme itu biasanya tiap orang mempunyai keinginan untuk ideal, idealisme menurut mereka, Cuma kadang-kadang dari idealisme itu kurang bisa, kalau di dunia broadcast seperti saya ini, idealisme ini kadang-kadang susah untuk dijual, atau kurang laku dijual, jadi kurang memenuhi keinginan pasar. Sementara kalau bisnis tujuannya adalah salah satunya untuk memenuhi keinginan pasar. Jadi ide dan konsep itu harus benar-benar ia kembangkan, idenya mungkin sama cuma konsepnya mungkin beda, ini konsep dimana idealisme, dan ini konsep dimana bisnis. Jadi tinggal dipilih yang mana. Jadi kalau di dunia televisi mungkin akan dipilih yang bisnis ketimbang idealisme. Kalau idealisme mungkin hanya membuat berbagai macam lomba, misalnya ada lomba program atau apa, lomba foto, atau lomba video dokumenter., itu bisa secara ideal. Tetapi jika di industri kita tidak bisa seperti itu, kita harus menyesuaikan dengan keinginan pasar.

 

Q: Bagaimana pendapat Bapak tentang dunia ide dalam industri kreatif (dunia penciptaan) di Indonesia?

A: Ide itu bisa muncul kapan saja, dan bisa lahir di mana saja. Semua orang pasti puny aide, hanya saja nanti ketika penjabaran dalam bentuk konsep itu bisa akan sama, misalkan ide saya dan idemu berbeda, tetapi ketika di dalam konsep bisa saja konsep saya dan konsep anda sama. Karena konsep-konsep dan ide-ide yang beragam inilah, ketika televisi membuat program gak ada habisnya, ada ajah ide-idenya dan ada saja konsep-konsepnya. Mungkin idenya sama, misalnya membuat program cooking, tetapi konsepnya berbeda satu di konsep memasak sambil jalan-jalan, satu di konsep masak benar-benar di dapur melibatkan audience dan sebagainya, ada lagi satu konsep memasak di alam terbuka dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan alam. Jadi bisa beragam. Nah itulah yang akhirnya membuat kreatif di Indonesia gak pernah habis, kerena beragam ide dan konsep itu.

 

Q: Apakah menurut Bapak sebuah ide dan konsep yang baik akan mempengaruhi baik buruknya sebuah karya?

A: Kalau ide mungkin tidak akan mempengaruhi baik buruknya sebuah karya. Karena semua ide itu menurut saya bagus, hanya saja yang mempengaruhinya adalah konsepnya, yang bentuk turunan dari ide itu yang mempengaruhi baik buruknya sebuah program. Karena ketika konsep itu dirancang dengan sedemikian rupa, dengan baik dan tertata dengan baik maka itu akan menjadi suatu hal yang baik.

 

Q: Bagaimana cara Bapak menuangkan sebuah ide dan konsep dalam acara yang bawa          bawakan?

A: Ketika misalkan dalam posisi saya sebagai seorang news anchor, ketika ada sebuah ide dan produser sudah memberikan konsep, saya akan membahas konsep ini lebih dalam lagi sehingga program ini bisa berjalan sesuai dengan konsepnya dan tidak melenceng. Makanya ketika saya mendapatkan sebuah konsep, saya senantiasa berdiskusi dan saya juga mengadakan riset, baik itu riset pustaka, riset melalui website atau yang lainnya, dan mungkin wawancara dengan narasumber saya untuk menjadikan program itu bagus.

 

Q: Bagaimana menurut Bapak sebuah karya yang baik itu?

A: Karya yang baik itu adalah ketika dimana semua berjalan sesuai dengan konsep. Dan konsep itu juga di dukung dengan team work yang bagus juga. Ketika konsep itu dibuat dengan baik, tetapi tidak di dukung dengan team work maka percuma juga walau ide dan konsepnya bagus. Harus ada sinergi antara ide, konsep dan team work. Itulah pilar yang paling utama yang menurut saya untuk membuat sebuah program.

 

Q: Dan sebagai seorang Produser, bagaimana cara Bapak dalam membuat sebuah karya yang baik?

A: Intinya hampir sama seperti tadi, seorang produser pasti mempunyai ide dan dia menjabarkan konsepnya itu dan bagaimana dia mendiskusikan konsepnya itu dengan timnya yang lain sehingga menjadikan sebuah program yang baik. Karena kita tidak bekerja sendiri, kita bekerja cameraman, audioman, lightingman. Bagaimana kita mengajak semua kru itu untuk memahami semua konsep yang saya inginkan dan sesuai dengan keinginan dunia industri itu. Kita menyamakan persepsi dulu nih diantara semua kru, kamu boleh menyampaikan ide kreatifmu seperti apa asal kita bicarakan bareng-bareng dulu, sehingga antara satu orang dengan yang lainnyantidak memaksakan kreatifnya.

 

Q: Bagaimana awal mulanya Bapak sebagai News Anchoor, dan apa ketertarikan bapak dengan bidang ini?

A: Awalnya itu, sebenarnya sejak kecil saya tertarik dengan penyiar-penyiar yang di TVRI tampil di layar, baca, pokoknya udah top margotop lah. Cuma akhirnya waktu kuliah saya memilih komunikasi untuk menyesuaikan bekerja di televisi, namun awalnya saya gak begitu srek di televise, karena awalnya belum bisa. Saya bekerja di radio dulu sebagai basic, saya harus mengembangkan vocal dsb di radio. Akhirnya setelah itu awalnya saya masuk di TVRI, setelah itu saya pindah ke Trans TV dan habis itu saya pindah ke Trans 7 menjadi News Anchoor, dan setahun terakhir saya sudah pensiun menjadi Anchoor , namun kalau ada acara-acara khusus saya masih menjadi dipakai. Ketika menjadi Achoor ini bukan pekerjaan yang gampang, bukan pekerjaan yang instan. Seperti yang terjadi di beberapa station sekarang, ketika seseorang yang dianggap terkenal ia bisa menjadi seorang News Anchoor.  Karena menurut saya sebagai News Anchoor itu khan adalah jangkar, dimana ia harus bisa mencari berita, dimana dia juga harus bisa membawakan berita dengan baik, dan bagaimana ia bisa mengembangkan berita sesuai dengan yang ia inginkan. Dan itu susah, tidak gampang, memang ada tahapan-tahapannya. Ia harus menjadi News Presenter dulu, kemudian dia harus menjadi News Reader dulu, dan kemudian dia bisa menjadi seorang News Anchoor. Dimana dia bisa menjadi seorang Produser, menjadi Anchoor, semuanya bisa. Dan saya tertarik dengan bidang ini karena itu tadi, beberapa pekerjaan bisa dilakukan dengan hanya satu orang. Dia bisa menulis berita, dia bisa membawakannya kemudian dia juga bisa memilih-milih berita yang ia inginkan

 

Q: Apa harapan bapak sebagai seorang yang professional kepada generasi penerus sekarang ini ?

A: Harapannya adalah terus kembangkanlah ide dari temen-temen sekarang, kerena kadang-kadang banyak orang punya ide tetapi ia tidak mau menurunkan ide itu dalam bentuk konsep, hanya sebatas ide. Ide itu hanya diomongkan, tidak berusaha menjadikan ide itu real atau menjadi sesuatu yang nyata.

The Ring II

 

The Ring Two is a 2005 American psychological horror film, and a sequel to the 2002 film The Ring, which was a remake of the 1998 Japanese film of the same name. Hideo Nakata, director of the original Japanese films Ring and Ring 2 on which the American versions are based, is the director of this film in place of Gore Verbinski (who directed the first film).

This sequel (and the upcoming 2012 3D sequel The Ring 3D) is not based on any of the previous Japanese sequels to Ring, and is an original storyline, continuing from The Ring.

The movie was filmed in Astoria, Oregon and Los Angeles, California. It was released on March 18, 2005, and opened with a strong US$35 million its first weekend, more than doubling the opening weekend of The Ring. Its final $75 million gross was far less than the original’s $129 million total.

 

Plot

Approximately six months after the events of the first movie, Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) have moved from Seattle to the quiet coastal community of Astoria, Oregon. Rachel begins a new job at the Daily Astorian, a local newspaper, working for Max Rourke (Simon Baker). Before long, there is news of a teenage homicide in town. Rachel investigates, finding the dead boy’s face shows a deformed expression of horror just like the previous victims of Samara Morgan’s cursed tape. Upon finding the boy’s corpse, she also has a vision of Samara grabbing her and declaring “I found you.” After that she goes to the police station in order to talk to the girl who witnessed the boy’s death and after persuading the girl to tell her she finds out where the tape is. She takes the tape deep into the woods and burns it.

Aidan has a dream in which he comes down to the T.V. room without Rachel home, and is pulled into the screen by Samara when the videotape starts. Back at home, Aidan starts to develop hypothermia, and his body is suddenly covered with bruises. At a county fair, Aidan takes pictures of himself in the bathroom mirror, with a blurred Samara standing behind him. His behavior grows increasingly odd and distant, and whilst driving back from the fair, the car carrying Aidan and Rachel is repeatedly attacked by a deer, nearly killing them. This event was apparently mysteriously foreseen by Aidan, who warned Rachel of impending danger seconds before the deer came out of nowhere. Strange occurrences within their house (including visions of Samara, a burn mark in the wall which resembles the tree from the cursed video, and seeming poltergeist activity) frighten Rachel, leading her and Aidan to flee. Rachel subsequently asks Max if he can take care of the increasingly sick Aidan at his house.

Max says that Aidan’s condition merits a trip to the hospital, but Rachel, knowing that his illness is unnatural, is adamant that traditional doctors cannot help him. When Rachel attempts to give Aidan (who suddenly develops a mysterious fear of water) a warm bath at Max’s, a series of paranormal events leads to Rachel seeing Aidan’s body replaced by Samara. Max walks in when she attempts to drown Samara, and sees her trying to drown Aidan instead. Suspicious, he insists on taking Aidan to the hospital against her wishes, stating, “You wanted my help, now you’re getting it.”

Based on the bruises on Aidan’s body, the hospital staff, particularly psychiatrist Dr. Emma Temple (Elizabeth Perkins), suspect child abuse on Rachel’s part, because Rachel reveals she suffered from postpartum depression, and won’t allow her to be near her son. Desperate for answers, Rachel flees the hospital and travels to Seattle to dig deeper into Samara’s past. Knowing that Samara was not Richard and Anna Morgan’s biological child, she tracks down Samara’s birth mother, Evelyn (Sissy Spacek), who tried to drown Samara as an infant and has been living in a mental institution ever since. Meanwhile, Samara (in Aidan’s body) inflicts a psychic assault on Dr. Temple, forcing Dr. Temple to commit suicide so that Samara (in Aidan’s body) can escape the hospital.

Evelyn advises Rachel to “listen to her baby” when she seeks advice on how to deal with Samara. Max goes to Rachel’s house to check on her, only to find Aidan watching TV alone. He attempts to surreptitiously capture Aidan on film in order to reveal Samara, as Aidan had before Samara possessed him. Aidan/Samara notices the camera. When Rachel returns home, she finds Max’s car parked outside and his dead body inside with the same warped expression of Samara’s other victims. Disturbed and unsure of what to do, Rachel then goes inside to face her possessed son.

Rachel tells Aidan/Samara that he should go to sleep. Aidan responds that he never sleeps. She suggests she make him something to eat. Rachel goes into the kitchen, preparing two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. On one sandwich, she puts sleeping medication, intended to make Aidan unconscious. After eating the sandwich, Aidan soon falls asleep.

Rachel fills the upstairs bathtub with water and holds an unconscious Aidan underwater. Samara’s spirit leaves his body, and Rachel is then able to revive him. However, Samara attempts to come back into the house through the TV set. Rachel grabs onto Samara as she is emerging, and is pulled into Samara’s well inside the world of the cursed video. Looking up, Rachel realizes that the well lid is always left open. Rachel begins climbing the side of the well. Halfway up, Samara emerges from the water below and also ascends in a very inhuman fashion. As Rachel is climbing out of the well, Samara grabs her leg. Rachel manages to shake her off and then causes a jet of water to come out of the side of the well. Samara loses her grip and falls back down the well, however, she begins climbing again at a rapid rate. Rachel climbs out of the well just as Samara cries ‘”Mommy!”‘ in a deep voice. Rachel responds angrily that she’s not her mother and pushes the lid shut just as Samara is about to escape, trapping her in the well.

As Rachel wanders the monochromatic world of the cursed tape, she hears Aidan’s voice and walks toward it, only to come to the cliff where Anna jumped to her death. She hears Aidan calling her name below. Determined to follow Aidan’s voice, Rachel jumps off the cliff and ends up back in her living room with Aidan, where they embrace. Aidan calls Rachel ‘”Mommy”‘, and she asks him to just call her Rachel. The film ends when the camera then views the street and the sky, where a crescent moon can still be seen. The film then flickers out.

Strom of the century

 

Storm of the Century, alternatively known as Stephen King’s Storm of the Century, is a 1999 horror TV miniseries written by Stephen King and directed by Craig R. Baxley. Promotional material for the miniseries claimed that it was King’s first ever story written exclusively for a miniseries, but was actually his second after the not as well known Golden Years. King would later publish the screenplay in book form, with the screenplay format intact. The movie is rated PG-13.

 

Plot

A very powerful blizzard hits the fictional small town of Little Tall Island (also the setting of King’s novel Dolores Claiborne) off the coast of Maine. This storm is so powerful that all access off the island is blocked, and no one is able to leave the island until the storm is over. While trying to deal with the storm, the citizens of the town are visited by Andre Linoge (Colm Feore), a menacing stranger who apparently knows all of the townsfolk’s darkest secrets, among which are abortion, adultery, growing marijuana, and gay-bashing. After having killed one of the town’s residents, Linoge is jailed. Even though he is kept in jail by the town’s trusted constable, Mike Anderson (Timothy Daly), Linoge is somehow able to force people to commit suicide or kill others from within his cell. Linoge constantly repeats “Give me what I want, and I’ll go away” through his victims as well as to his victims. Interestingly, although the adults are terrified of the stranger, all the children are drawn to him. In a dream, the townspeople see themselves walking into the sea two-by-two with the word Croatan (a reference to the colony of Roanoke) carved on their heads. Eventually, Mike finds out that Linoge is an anagram of the demon Legion and agrees to organize the townspeople so they can hear his demands.

What Linoge desires is an heir, one of eight children that he had incapacitated early on in the miniseries—someone to “carry on his work when he can no longer do it himself”, although Linoge’s life spans millennia, he is not immortal. Any of the eight children, he states, will suit him. He states that he cannot simply take one of the children. They must be given. But he can punish the residents if they refuse him. He states that if the townsfolk do not give him a child, he will kill them all, presumably by marching them into the sea, as they had seen in their dream. Linoge implies that he had done the same before at Roanoke when those colonists had refused his demands. He insists that the child will be well-looked after and will live on for a far longer time than he/she would have otherwise. After Linoge leaves, a strong argument breaks out in the town hall. Mike Anderson wants the townsfolk to unitedly reject Linoge’s request, saying it would be better for all of the adults and children to die than to give Linoge a child to raise. Mike asks “how can they give a child to that man?” His argument, however, falls upon deaf ears, as the townspeople not only fear Linoge, but also fear the possibilities of Linoge killing the children (as Ursula says about her daughter, “Better she live with a bad man than be dead”). After they vote almost unanimously, save for Mike, to accept Linoge’s demand, he has one parent of each child draw a colored stone from a bag he has. The child selected is Ralph Anderson, and after contemptuously thanking the town, Linoge departs, assuming in the process his ancient form. Mike chases after him before falling on his knees outside the church, to no avail.

In the film’s epilogue, Mike explains, in voiceover narration, that the community of Little Tall, which specializes in keeping secrets, has tried to heal from the traumatic events by attempting to return to a state of normalcy (without complete success, as several characters die in the following years from psychological issues relating to the event). The epilogue reveals that Mike, angry that the town and his wife were willing to sacrifice his child to appease pure evil, divorces Molly and leaves town. Molly, who is now remarried to Mike’s deputy, has been going totherapy, in which she continues to deny what really happened to her son but admits that Mike was right to leave her. Mike, meanwhile, returns to school and becomes a federal marshal stationed in San Francisco. Years later, when Mike is out for groceries, he spots an old man and a teenage boy walking nearby. Recognizing a distinctive birthmark on the boy, he realizes that it is his son Ralphie and that the old man must be Linoge. Mike calls out to his son and the two men stop to look back at him. Ralphie makes eye-contact with him and bares his teeth, which are now fangs, showing that Ralphie is no longer human. Mike is horrified to see this. However, before Mike has a chance to react, he loses them both in the crowd, and they vanish down a long alley. In a closing voiceover, Mike says he considered calling Molly to tell her but “in the daylight, I know better.”

Alone

 

Alone is a 2007 Thai horror film directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom, a duo whose debut film, Shutter, was a box-office smash in Thailand and other Asian countries. Alone stars Thai-German pop singer Marsha Wattanapanich in her first film role in 15 years.

 

Plot

Pim was born as a twin, conjoined at the stomach with her sister, Ploy. Pim was very sweet and protective to Ploy.However, it was Ploy who threw rocks at a group of children who were taunting them. While they were staying in a hospital, Pim and Ploy met a boy named Wee. Although both loved him, Wee only returned Pim’s affections, which made Ploy angry and jealous. Finally Wee recovers from his illness and was able to leave. As he is getting into the car, Wee decided he wanted to see Pim one last time. Since the twins’ room was on the second floor, he decides to call to her. As much as Pim wants to see Wee, Ploy would not get out of bed. Wee is upset and leaves. Angry and in tears, Pim demands that she and Ploy be separated. The twins had an operation to separate them, but Ploy did not survive.

Several years later Pim, who is now living in South Korea and is dating Wee, receives a phone call from Thailand that her mother has had a stroke. When Pim and Wee return to Thailand, Ploy comes back to haunt her. Curious, Wee looks into Pim’s family affairs. In a stroke of irony, Wee learns that Pim is actually Ploy. Revealed in a flashback, Ploy strangled Pim in a jealous rage after Pim demanded they be separated. In order to save Ploy’s life, doctors had to amputate Pim’s corpse from Ploy. Ploy assumed Pim’s identity in order to be with Wee. Throughout the film, Pim’s ghost was actually trying to tell Wee of this. Ploy’s mother knew of her actions as well, tried to tell him, but was unable to talk due to her weakened state.

After confronting Pim, Ploy takes Wee hostage, but not before killing her mother. However, Wee escapes, and the ensuing fight with Ploy causes the house to catch on fire. Wee escapes, but a shelf falls on Ploy. Trapped underneath, Pim’s ghost confronts and holds her down, taking Ploy with her as burning debris rains down around them. In the end, Wee visits the twins’ grave, apologizes, and places a necklace on their tombstone.

Candyman

 

Candyman is a 1992 horror film starring Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd and Xander Berkeley. It was directed by Bernard Roseand is based on the short story “The Forbidden” by Clive Barker, though the film’s scenario is switched from England to Chicago. The film was scored by Philip Glass. The film was met with critical acclaim and was a box office success.Candyman is the first film in a trilogy which includes Candyman 2: Farewell to the Flesh and Candyman 3: Day of the Dead.

 

PLOT

Helen Lyle is a graduate student conducting research for her thesis on urban legends. While interviewing freshmen about their superstitions, she hears about a local legend known as Candyman, who is summoned by anyone who looks into a mirror and chants his name five times (similar to the Bloody Mary folkloric tale). However, summoning him often costs the individual their own life. Later that evening, Helen and her friend Bernadette jokingly call

Candyman’s name into the mirror in Helen’s bathroom but nothing happens.

While conducting her research, Helen enters the notorious gang-ridden Cabrini–Green housing project, the site of a recent unsolved murder. There she meets Anne-Marie McCoy, one of the residents, as well as a young boy named Jake, who tells her a disturbing story of a child who was horribly mutilated in a public restroom near the projects, supposedly by Candyman. While exploring the run-down restroom, Helen is attacked by a gang member carrying a hook who has taken the Candyman moniker as his own to enhance his own street credibility by associating himself with the legend. Helen survives the assault and is able to later identify her attacker to the police.

Helen later returns to school but hears a voice calling her name as she walks through a parking garage. Another man she encounters states he is the Candyman of the urban legend and because of Helen’s disbelief in him, he must now prove to her that he is real. Helen blacks out and wakes up in Anne-Marie’s apartment, covered in blood. Anne-Marie, whose Rottweiler has been decapitated and whose baby is also missing, attacks Helen and she is forced to defend herself from Anne-Marie using a meat cleaver. The police then enter the apartment and arrest Helen.

Trevor, Helen’s husband, bails her out of jail the following day and leaves her in their apartment while he runs an errand. Candyman approaches Helen again and cuts the nape of her neck, causing her to bleed. Bernadette arrives at Helen’s apartment and, too weak from the loss of blood, Helen is unable to stop Candyman from murdering her. Trevor arrives home and after it appears that Helen has murdered Bernadette, Helen is sedated and is placed in a psychiatric hospital pending trial.

After a month’s stay at the hospital, Helen is interviewed by a psychologist in preparation for her upcoming trial. While restrained, Helen attempts to deny culpability in the murders and convince the psychologist that the urban legend is indeed true. After she summons Candyman, the psychologist is murdered by Candyman from behind and Helen is able to escape to her own apartment. There she finds Trevor with another woman, one of his students. Helen then flees to Cabrini–Green to confront Candyman and to locate Anne-Marie’s still-missing infant.

Candyman predicts that Helen will help carry on his tradition of inciting fear into a community, and promises to release the baby if Helen agrees to sacrifice herself. Instead of holding his end of the bargain, Candyman takes both the baby and Helen into the middle of a massive junk pile which the residents have been planning to turn into a bonfire, intending to sacrifice both Helen and the baby in order to feed his own legend. However, the residents believe Candyman is hiding inside the bonfire pile and set it aflame. Helen manages to rescue the baby, but dies from burns in the process. Candyman also burns in the fire, leaving only his hook-hand behind.

After Helen’s funeral, in which the residents of Cabrini–Green pay their respects and give thanks to Helen, Trevor stands before a mirror in the bathroom of their former apartment. He chants Helen’s name in grief, summoning her vengeful spirit. Helen kills Trevor with Candyman’s hook, leaving Trevor’s new lover Stacey with his bloodied corpse as Helen becomes the embodiment of the urban legend.

Audition

Tentang Film:

Audition adalah sebuah thriller-suspens-kontemporer yang tidak semua orang akan dapat menikmatinya. Sangat bergaya Jepang, dengan tempo yang lambat dan banyaknya adegan-adegan sureal yang kelam, serta (yang paling utama) adegan S&M dengan penekanan yang sedikit intens untuk kata ‘sadis’. Bagi mereka yang tidak dapat mentoleransi kekejaman yang berdarah-darah atau berpenyakit jantung, lebih baik menghindari menonton film ini.

Audition adalah film karya Takashi Miike, seseorang yang dapat meningkatkan derajat suatu kebrutalan menjadi karya yang indah. Audition berbeda dengan film-film horror lainnya, karena di dalam film ini tidak terdapat hantu atau monster.

Temannya yang produser, Yoshikawa (Jun Kunimura), menganjurkan untuk mencari istri melalui sebuah audisi film barunya. Dari audisi tersebut, Aoyama merasa sangat tertarik dengan Asami (Eihi Shiina), yang kelihatanya sangat memenuhi semua kriteria Aoyama. Maka dimulailah hubungan diantara mereka berdua, sampai suatu hari Asami menghilang.

 

• Resolution

Aoyama yang penasaran mulai mencari Asami, dan menemukan rahasia gelap gadis yang sudah menawan hatinya tersebut. Kini kengerian mengancam jiwa Aoyama serta anak laki-laki satu-satunya.

 

Synopsis:

Kisah ini berawal dari sebuah audisi untuk mencari seorang yang tepat untuk dijadikan pendamping hidup alias istri, namun ternyata apa yang dihadapinya tidak seindah kulit luarnya. Usut punya usut, ternyata sang gadis yang terpilih dalam audisi ini, memiliki masa lalu yang sangat pelik dan suram. Dan kolektif memori masa lalu inilah yang memotivasi gadis ini untuk kemudian mengamini aksi sadistisnya guna menunjukkan kepada sang duda, wajah sang derita. Apa yang saya tangkap dari film ini adalah bagaimana sang gadis merefleksikan rasa sakitnya ini kedalam bentuk yang sangat ekstrim, dan terkadang sulit untuk dapat diterima akal sehat. Memang, kulit luar tidaklah sejahat kulit dalam, setidaknya itulah yang ingin diingatkan dari film ini kepada kita sekalian. Kelalaian manusia oleh karena nafsu binatang yang bersifat temporer dapat berakibat fatal dan akan membawa manusia kedalam derita yang menyeluruh. Last but not least, karakter-karakter dalam film ini bermain sangat apik dan intense, jadi tidak ada salahnya jika saya menganggap film ini sebagai salah satu yang terbaik dalam genrenya.

Tentang Film:

The Ring adalah sebuah film horor psikologis Amerika tahun 2002 yang disutradarai oleh Gore Verbinski dan dibintangi Naomi Watts dan Martin Henderson. Film ini adalah film remake Amerika dari film horror Jepang Ring alias Ringu pada tahun 1998.

Kedua film berdasarkan novel Ring Koji Suzuki dan fokus pada sebuah video rekaman terkutuk yang misterius, yang berisi serangkaian gambar acak yang mengganggu. Setelah menonton rekaman itu, orang yang menonton menerima sebuah panggilan telepon di mana suara seorang gadis memberitahukan bahwa sang penonton akan meninggal dalam waktu tujuh hari. Film ini kemudian sukses secara komersial dan menyabet 7 penghargaan pada tahun 2003.

The Ring merupakan film horror Jepang yang mendapatkan gelar Film thriller horror asia yang paling terpopuler. Selain sukses di versi aslinya, versi Amerikanya juga sukses nangkring di puncak Box Office. Kedua film tersebut diadaptasi dari novel karya Kôji Suzuki. Film ini disutradarai oleh Gore Verbinski dan dibintangi oleh Naomi Watts dan Martin Henderson.

Film ini memang memiliki ide yang segar di film bergender horror yang berkisah tentang bocah bernama Samara yang menuntut balas atas kematian yang misterius. Hantu Sadako ini memakan korban banyak orang dan misteri mengerikan itu harus segera terpecah agar tak lagi memakan korban.

Synopsis:

Cerita di film ini bermula ketika dua gadis remaja, Katie Embry (Amber Tamblyn) dan Becca Kotler (Rachael Bella), membahas video yang konon dikutuk ketika meraka berada sendirian di rumah Katie. Katie mengungkapkan bahwa, tujuh hari sebelumnya, ia pergi ke kabin di Shelter Mountain Inn dengan teman-temannya, di mana ia menonton video rekaman itu. Mereka menertawakan cerita itu, tapi setelah serangkaian kejadian aneh dalam beberapa menit berikutnya, termaksud TV di ruangan yang menyala dengan sendirinya, Katie meninggal secara misterius dan mengerikan sementara Becca yang menyaksikan kajadian itu, akhirnya harus berakhir di rumah sakit jiwa.

Sepupu Katie yang berusia 9 tahun, Aidan (David Dorfman), tampaknya dipengaruhi oleh kematian itu. Setelah pemakaman Katie, Ruth Embry (LindsayFrost) meminta kakaknya Rachel (Naomi Watts), ibu Aidan yang juga seorang wartawan, untuk menyelidiki kematian Katie, yang kemudian mengarahkan Rachel ke kabin di mana Katie menyaksikan rekaman itu. Rachel menemukan dan menonton rekaman itu, telepon berdering, dan dia mendengar suara anak-anak mengatakan “tujuh hari”, yang mengagetkan Rachel.

Keesokan harinya, Rachel memanggil Noah (Martin Henderson), mantan pacarnya yang juga adalah ayah Aiden, untuk menunjukkan video itu dan meminta bantuannya. Dia meminta Noah untuk membuat salinan video itu untuk penyelidikan lebih lanjut, Noah kemudian melakukannya, tetapi kemudian membawanya pulang sendiri. Satu hal yang kemudian sangat mengagetkan Rachel adalah, ia menemukan Aidan menonton salinan video itu beberapa hari kemudian!

Sejak itu kehidupan mereka berubah menjadi kengerian dan ketakutan karena kutukan video itu. Namun Rachel tak tinggal diam dan berusaha menyelidiki video itu dan mencari cara agar dia dan anaknya yang telah menonton video itu tidak menjadi korban selanjutnya. Bagaimanakah jawaban atas penyelidikan Rachel? Untuk yang suka film horor, film ini recomended banget.

Plot:

The Creed family moves into a new home, close to a road where high-speed truckers often carelessly drive by. They befriend their neighbor, Jud Crandall, who tells them about a pet cemetery and the burial grounds nearby. Louis Creed, working at the University of Maine at Orono hospital, is treating a car accident victim named Victor Pascow, who dies on the operating table. That night, in what is seemingly a dream, Pascow visits Louis in his sleep, warning him about the burial ground. Louis wakes up to find his feet covered in dirt.

Church, a British Shorthair cat owned by Louis’s daughter Ellie, is run over by a truck on the road in front of their house while the rest of the family is in Chicago. Jud takes Louis to a burial ground beyond the pet cemetery they visited earlier. He buries the cat underneath a cairn. Church is brought back to life, but acts differently; he attacks Louis and reeks of decomposition, despite his injuries having healed. Jud tells Louis about the grounds. Louis asks if a person was ever buried in the grounds.

Sometime later, Louis’s young son Gage is tragically run over by a truck on the same road during a picnic and is killed. Louis considers burying Gage in the burial grounds. Jud tries to dissuade him from doing so, telling him about a young soldier from town, Timmy Baterman, who died in service duringWorld War II. His father, Bill, placed his son’s corpse into the Micmac burial ground, only to have it reanimate and terrify the townsfolk. Jud and three of his friends tried to save Bill and burn down the house with the son in it, but Bill was attacked by Timmy, both perishing in the fire. Jud believes that the place made Gage die because he introduced Louis to it. Ellie and Rachel travel to Chicago, but Ellie is reluctant, as she had a bad dream about her father, Gage and Pascow. She pleads for Louis to go with them, but he declines. Louis heads to the cemetery Gage is buried in, intending to exhume his son’s body. He is met at the graveyard by Pascow, who tells him the barrier was not meant to be crossed, and that the ground is sour.

In Chicago Ellie has a nightmare, stating that Pascow warned her that Louis is going to do something really bad, and that he is trying to help because Louis tried to save his life. Rachel, with a little help from Pascow, whose spirit is still inside the house, realizes who her daughter is talking about and calls Jud after Louis does not answer the phone. She asks if he has seen Louis, and then tells him she is returning. He warns her not to, but she has already hung up.

Louis digs up Gage’s body, taking his son’s corpse to the burial ground. Pascow’s spirit once again tries to stop Louis, but he buries Gage at the Micmac grounds. Louis returns home, exhausted from his activities. Gage later arrives and enters his father’s room, removing a scalpel from one of his bags. He heads for Jud’s house, and after playing a game of hide and seek with the old man, slices Jud’s Achilles tendon, slashes his mouth, and rips his throat out, while Church watches.

Rachel arrives home, hearing something that sounds like her late sister Zelda calling her name, then Gage’s laughter. She enters Jud’s house to find Gage, dressed in one of Jud’s old hats and one of his canes. He tells her he brought her something, and shows her Louis’s scalpel. Thinking nothing of it, Rachel hugs her son in disbelief, and is stabbed presumably through the eye.

Louis wakes up to find Gage’s muddy footprints on the floor, his doctor’s bag opened and his scalpel gone. He receives a call from Gage saying, “Come play with me daddy! First I played with Jud, and then I played with mommy. We had an awful good time. Now I want to play with you.” Preparing shots of morphine, Louis heads to Jud’s house, running into Church once more. He distracts the cat with a raw steak, then gives him a shot of morphine, the cat dying almost instantaneously. He heads into the house, once more taunted by Gage, and prepares the second shot of morphine. Louis searches the house only to have Rachel’s corpse fall from the attic, hung by her neck. Gage leaps from the attic door, biting and stabbing Louis. Finally getting his reanimated son off him, Louis grabs a morphine shot. Gage heads for him again, scalpel in hand, but Louis injects the boy with the shot. Gage walks away muttering, “No fair”, until he slumps against a wall, dead. Louis soaks the house in kerosene and sets it on fire, carrying his wife’s body out. Pascow watches, knowing what he is doing, and tells Louis he is sorry, and not to bury Rachel in the same place. The now-insane Louis replies that he waited too long with Gage, and that it will work with his wife because she just died.

Louis plays solitaire at home while he waits. At midnight, an undead Rachel comes through the kitchen door, walking towards her husband. She coos, “Darling…” and the two embrace, kissing. Rachel reaches for a knife on the kitchen table and grabs it slowly. The screen blacks out as Louis screams.

Synopsis:

Film Kuntilanak menceritakan tentang kisah seorang gadis bernama Sam (Julie Estelle). Setelah mengalami konflik di rumah dan dengan pacarnya Agung yang ketahuan selingkuh (Evan Sanders), Sam memutuskan untuk mencari tempat kos didaerah pinggiran Jakarta

Sam kemudian menemukan sebuah rumah kos yang besar namun disebut angker oleh penduduk sekitarnya. Terutama karena adanya sebuah pohon tua besar yang dianggap sebagai tempat tinggal kuntilanak. Sebelumnya rumah tersebut adalah sebuah pabrik yang terbakar puluhan tahun sebelumnya. Deretan kuburan yang terletak didepan rumah tersebut adalah milik para korban kebakaran tersebut.

Ditempat kos itu Sam bertemu dengan Dinda (Ratu Felisha) yang suka hal-hal berbau mistik, dan Alfon (Ibnu Jamil) yang katanya sih punya indra ke enam plus bisa meramal (padahal sih enggak). Sementara itu biarpun Sam memaafkan Agung, hubungan mereka menjadi renggang. Agung berusaha memperbaiki hubungan mereka dengan menyelidiki arti mimpi-mimpi buruk yang selama ini di alami oleh Sam.

Kepindahan Sam kerumah angker tersebut bukannya membuat semua menjadi baik, malah menjadi semakin ruwet. Hal-hal aneh mulai terjadi kepada orang-orang disekeliling Sam. Puncaknya adalah ketika orang-orang dekat Sam mulai meninggal satu persatu.

Synopsis:

Apa jadinya bila anda mendapatkan telfon dari dirimu sendiri di masa depan dan yang mengerikan adalah dirimu kemudian akan mengalami kematian di masa depan itu. Di masa depan itulah anda akan terbunuh dengan cara sadis oleh sebuah sosok yang tidak dikenal. Satu per satu dari mereka mendapatkan sebuah telfon dan voice message. Ketika saatnya tiba semua akan menemui ajal mereka dengan cara yang mengerikan. Yumi menjadi penasaran mengenai hal ini. Ia mulai mencari misteri di balik kutukan itu. Yumi menemukan kalau kutukan itu menyebar melalui satu seluler ke seluler lainnya. Ketika seorang mati telefon selulernya akan menelefon salah satu nomor dalam phone booknya untuk meneruskan kutukan itu kepada orang lainnya.

Rangkaian cerita:

• Exposition:

Sekelompok remaja yang bersahabat, bernama Lean, Beath, Brian, Taylor. Mereka mendapatkan sebuah terror melalui ponsel mereka.

• Rising action:

Lean mendapatkankan sebuah pesan panggilan tak terjawab dari Shally, yang ternyata merupakan adik Jack yang kematiannya belum jelas apa penyebabnya. Setelah mendapatkan pesan itu akhirnya Lean pun meninggal. Selanjutnya, Brian yang mendapat pesan dari Lean, yang mengatakan bahwa ia akan tewas dalam dalam dua hari. Brian menceritakan pesan yang didapatkannya kepada Beth, dan akhirnya Brian pun tewas.

• Climax:

Brian dan Taylor yang masih bertahan menyadari bahwa apa yang dialami kedua teman sebelumnya juga akan mereka alami. Dan mereka melepas baterai handphone mereka. Tetapi handphone Taylor tiba-tiba berbunyi dan mendapat pesan seperti teman-temannya.

Curiga dengan kejadian yang di almi teman-temannya, Beath pun menyelidiki kejadian-kejadian itu dengan seorang detektif yang bernama Jack yang menemuinya. Beath sempat menerima pesan yang sama dengan teman-temannya, dan Jack yang mengetahui itu akhirnya menginap di rumahnya untuk menjaganya.

• Falling action:

Beth berlari ke dalam lorong yang gelap, di sana ia mendapati sebuah tengkorak yang sedang memegang ponselnya, dan ia berusaha keras untuk menghancurkan ponsel tersebut. Di saat Beth berusaha keras menghancurkan ponsel itu, tanpa sadar tengkorak ternyata Marie Layton. Dia belum meninggal tapi menderita luka bakar yang sangat parah. Dia bersembunyi di ujung lorong itu tanpa alasan yang jelas. Dia baru meninggal sesudah bertemu dengan Beth. Dalam peristiwa ini ternyata Beth selamat, bahkan sesudah batas waktu kematiannya lewat. Dan ia pun memutuskan untuk segera pulang ke rumahnya.

• Resolution:

Jack menyempatkan diri ke panti asuhan untuk mengunjungi Laurel dan memberitahukan tentang kematian ibunya. Tapi niat itu urung, karena Laurel ternyata sudah tidur. Jack kemudian melihat lukisan Laurel di dinding, yang menggambarkan boneka beruangnya. Terdorong naluri, ia memeriksa boneka beruang itu. Dan menemukan kepingan CD lain di dalamnya. Ia memeriksa CD yang di dapatnya dan memberittahukan hasil penemuannya itu kepada Beth. Di rumahnya, Beth sendiri sudah mulai mengalami keganjilan-keganjilan. Jack menggedor pintu rumahnya. Setelah masuk, ia mulai menceritakan penemuan-penemuan barunya. Tapi sebelum ia sempat menyelesaikan kalimatnya, ada suara gedoran lagi di pintu. Mereka berdua tertegun. Dengan hati-hati, Jack mencoba mengintip melalui lubang pintu. Tiba-tiba saja, sebilah pisau muncul dan menusuk matanya begitu dalam. Dia terjatuh dan meninggal. Lalu mendadak pintu terbuka, dan tampaklah sesosok orang berpakaian serba hitam dan mengenakan jaket berkerudung. Wajahnya penuh luka dan mengerikan. Arwah Ellie Clayton. Dia berusaha mendekati Beth untuk membunuhnya. Tapi kemudian muncullah arwah Marie Clayton, yang kemudian mencekik Ellie dari belakang. Roh Ellie memudar dan masuk kedalam ponsel Beth yang tergeletak di lantai. Kemudian arwah Marie pun menghilang. Tapi ternyata, semua belum berakhir. Karena ponsel Bethkembali berdering dengan nada yang sama dengan sebelumnya. Dan dari mulut Jack keluar sebuah permen bulat berwarna merah lagi.
